New this year, we’ll be presenting the Monogram Demonstration Kitchen at our Napa Festival Hub at the Oxbow Commons. Here, you’ll find our daily culinary demonstrations featuring Monogram’s collection of luxury cooking appliances, custom-built and specially outfitted to include their Built-In Oven with Advantium Speedcook Technology, Integrated Column Refrigerator, Integrated Column Freezer, and Flush Hearth Oven. Joining them in the kitchen will be De’Longhi, providing automatic coffee and espresso makers (La Specialista, Dinamica, and Eletta), Blanc Creatives, supplying the cookware, Whole Foods Market, stocking the pantry, and Treasury Wine Estates, filling your glasses. All culinary demonstrations will have a sampling component, and Paula LeDuc Fine Catering & Events will be plating and serving each dish.

 

The Monogram Demonstration Kitchen will be open from Thursday, November 14 through Sunday, November 17 with demonstrations at 10:30 AM, 12:15 PM, and 2:00 PM every day and are available to all Festival Pass and Pass Plus holders, and all Patron Circle members. Please note that 3-Day Passes are not valid on Thursday.

 

Thursday, November 14

 

A Taste of Sky: A Culinary Demo | 10:30 AM – 11:15 AM

Top Chef alum Tu David Phu is a first-generation Vietnamese-American with a rich culinary background. During this demo, Chef Tu crafts a dish inspired by Vietnamese cuisine and teaches guests about the importance of utilizing local food resources to create a better world.

Breaking Bread: A Culinary Demo12:15 PM – 1:00 PM

Inspired by the documentary Breaking Bread, Chefs Laura and Sayat Ozyilmaz prepare sabich, a popular Israeli street food. Chef duo Laura and Sayat serve as the owners and executive chefs of San Francisco’s wildly successful Eastern Mediterranean restaurant Noosh.

Perfect Pairings2:00 PM – 2:45 PM

Chef Aaron Meneghelli of Carneros Resort and Spa takes guests through the Napa Valley region and the food that inspires the perfect wine pairings.

 

Friday, November 15

 

The Alchemist: The Science of Bread Making | 10:30 AM – 11:15 AM

The art of bread making is steeped in tradition. Although the ingredients are simple, the intricacies of making the perfect loaf have been studied for thousands of years. This culinary demo demystifies the art of baking bread at home.

Lahmajune: A Culinary Demo | 12:15 PM – 1:00 PM

Chef Vatche Moukhtarian, a winner of Food Network’s Guy’s Grocery Games, makes his family’s lahmajune recipe. Also modernly known as Armenian pizza, this Middle Eastern dish is inspired by a film with its same name.

Nothing Fancy: A Culinary Demo | 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM

Gran Electrica Chef Ignacio Beltran creates a dish inspired by the vibrant history and cuisine found in Mexico. His culinary demo centers around authentic Mexican cooking, combined with the importance of seasonal ingredients.

 

Saturday, November 16

 

The World is a Stage | 10:30 AM – 11:15 AM

Join Michelin Star Chef Stuart Brioza of State Bird Provisions for an adventurous, inventive, and contemporary spin on an American classic.

All the Pasta-bilities | 12:15 PM – 1:00 PM

Chef Hilary Sullivan Souza has been making homemade pasta since the age of eight. Join her at the demo kitchen as she takes guests through the process of making fresh pasta in just a few easy steps.

Snout to Tail | 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM

Join us at the demo kitchen for an exciting “snout to tail” breakdown, inspired by the Culinary Cinema film Nose to Tail. Executive Chef Daniel Capra of Paula LeDuc Fine Catering puts his butchering skills to the test to create a dish where all the key flavors come through.

 

Sunday, November 17

 

Wake Me for Brunch | 10:30 AM – 11:15 AM

An abundance of local ingredients will be brought together to create a dish designed to win over even the strongest of brunch skeptics. Wake up with a De’Longhi barista as they brew up some Coperaco coffee for the perfect start to your day.

Show Me the Honey | 12:15 PM – 1:00 PM

Experience a modern take on a southern classic. Paired with High West Whiskey, this honey fried chicken recipe incorporates local honey from Gray Apiaries.

A Pizza My Heart | 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM

Satisfy your carb craving and join Monogram Chef Gabriel McCarter at our first-ever pizza making demonstration. Guests will learn the art of making and rolling pizza dough, and how to select the perfect topping combination.
